Arizona Distilling Company has named San Diego-based bartender, Erick Castro as its newest partner. Castro will be involved with the brand on a multi-faceted level, including research and development, overall strategy and cocktail development, as well as executing ongoing tastings and trainings as he advocates for the brand across the U.S., and soon globally.
“As a long time fan of Arizona Distilling Company, I am thrilled to come on board as partner, and to be given the opportunity to help spread the word on their amazing spirits,” states Castro. “So much of what they make is truly unique and unlike anything else on the shelf that I just knew that I had to get involved with what they were doing.”
As a longtime bartender and bar owner, Erick Castro has demonstrated an affinity for spirits and cocktail history over the years. He initially built his cocktail empire at San Francisco’s Rickhouse and Bourbon & Branch by searching for obscure recipes, methods and ingredients that originated prior to Prohibition, before going on to become the owner of multiple award-winning bars, including San Diego’s Polite Provisions and Raised by Wolves, as well as New York City hotspot, Boilermaker. His beverage programs have been highlighted in some of the nation’s most coveted lists including Esquire’s “Best Bars in America”, Food & Wine’s “World’s Top Bars” and more.
