Distilled, matured, and bottled by Bladnoch Distillery.
Age: A nine-year-old Lowland single malt, distilled by Bladnoch, blended with malt and grain whiskies from Scotland’s several whisky regions. This is the same blend used in Pure Scot original, but then finished in virgin American oak casks and bottled at a slightly higher ABV than the original’s 40%.
Appearance: Medium amber; oily consistency; very long legs.
Nose: Mild, very gentle, exceptional for the category.
Flavor: From a pleasantly round mouth rise notes of charcoal, musk, tobacco, and cedar.
Finish: Medium duration, with an intense bloom of butterscotch at the tail end.
Conclusions: A solid, mid-priced mixer with enough character to merit occasional sipping and savoring.
Cocktail Recommendation: Rusty Nail
