Distilled from 100% Blue Weber Agave by Hacienda Corralejo, Guanajuato, Mexico.
Age: Four months in three different types of casks: French, American, and white oak.
Appearance: Clear, with a hint of straw; oily consistency; very long legs.
Nose: Extraordinarily gentle, with floral notes.
Flavor: Salty, spicy, almost fizzy in its intensity.
Finish: Medium, yet piquant, a fitting dénoument to this rested tequila’s palatal dramatics.
Conclusions: For a reposado, this tequila is striking in the way it figuratively dances on the tongue. No sign of mellowing here!
Cocktail Recommendation: A Tequila Highball, I think, but because this example is already halfway there, done with one half to two thirds the soda water than might be customary.
