The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) unveiled its new interactive Summary of State Laws and Regulations Relating to Distilled Spirits tool, a database for current laws, regulations and rulings relating to the sale and distribution of distilled spirits in the United States. This announcement marks the modernization of DISCUS’ longstanding “Summary of State Laws and Regulations Relating to Distilled Spirits” publication, which is housed behind the organization’s new members-only digital resource hub and available to non-members for purchase at www.distilledspirits.org/events-products/.
“It’s our mission to supply our industry with the resources it needs to navigate ever-changing policy and political landscapes across the country,” DISCUS President and CEO Chris Swonger said. “We’ve taken a cornerstone offering of this organization, transformed it into an interactive and user-friendly digital tool, and made it available at the click of a button.”
In turning this marquee publication into a digital resource, DISCUS incorporated substantial enhancements to the product. Users now can more easily tailor searches to one or more specific subject areas for any state or combination of states, using a map, a drop-down lists of states and dozens of subject areas. The tool now includes thousands of links to statutes, rules, policies, enacted bills, website pages, judicial decisions, and other sources of information. Updates to the state laws and regulations are made on a continual basis.
Along with the new, interactive Summary of State Laws and Regulations tool, which is available to DISCUS member companies at no additional charge, the members-only hub provides content and other information to help businesses succeed in the U.S. marketplace. Through the new members-only digital resource hub, users can find essential industry reports, upcoming events and key meetings, the latest on ever-changing state and federal policy issues and advocacy efforts, and other mission-critical information.
