12 Recipes For The Perfect Halloween Cocktail Menu

One of the year’s top sales seasons is Halloween, where sudden cover charges are acceptable and the cocktails get interesting, and pricey. We love these eight no-nonsense concoctions because they celebrate the holiday without compromising your stellar cocktail standards. 

Fallen Apple

Created by Tim Herlihy, Tullamore D.E.W. Ambassador 

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts Tullamore D.E.W. Cider Cask
  • Finish with Fresh-pressed Apple Juice

Directions: Build in a highball glass over ice, garnish with an apple wedge.


Hot Apple D.E.W.

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts Tullamore D.E.W. Cider Cask
  • 0.5 parts Honey/Spiced Syrup
  • Hot Apple Juice / Cider (*if using Cider, reduce whiskey to 1.5 parts)

Directions: Add first two ingredients to a pre-heated mug, stir well and fill with hot apple juice/apple cider. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, apple wedge and cloves.


The Apples & Pears

Ingredients:

  • 1 part Glenfiddich 12 Year Old
  • 1 part club soda
  • 1 part non-alcoholic apple cider
  • ½ part fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ part Drambuie
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Lemon peel, to garnish

Glass: Flute

Directions: Combine the Glenfiddich 12 Year Old, lemon juice, Drambuie, and bitters. Shake briefly and pour into a flute.  Add club soda and cider. Garnish with a lemon twist.


Pearofdise

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts Hendrick’s Gin
  • 3/4 part Sugar Syrup
  • 1/2 part Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 Pear
  • Garnish: Fan of pear

Directions: Muddle the pear with sugar. Add rest and shake.

Glassware: Cocktail glass


Hippocras Punch

Ingredients:

  • 8 parts white wine
  • 3 parts Hendrick’s Gin
  • 2 parts Chamomile tea
  • 1⁄2 pineapple chopped
  • 1 ½ part caster sugar
  • 7 cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 orange peels
  • 1 teaspoon of white pepper

Garnish: cinnamon sticks, cloves, oranges

Directions: Simmer tea, pineapple, sugar, spice, and wine. Add Hendrick’s Gin and serve.

Glassware: Punch glasses


The Campfire Old Fashioned

Ingredients:

  • 1 3/4 parts Glenfiddich 14 Year Bourbon Barrel Reserve
  • 1/4 part Glenfiddich Fire & Cane
  • 1/2 part Marshmallow Syrup
  • Toasted marshmallow, to garnish

Directions: In a mixing glass, combine all ingredients except toasted marshmallow and stir over ice. Strain over ice into a double rocks glass. Garnish with toasted marshmallow.

Marshmallow syrup: In a saucepan over low heat combine 1 cup Marshmallow Fluff, 1/4 cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons of cacao nibs and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract. Heat slowly to incorporate then strain through a coffee filter. Refrigerate and store. Keep up to one week.


The Witching Hour

Ingredients:

  • 3 Parts Hendrick’s Gin
  • ½ Part Chambord
  • 1 Part Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 Part Lavender Syrup 
  • Dry Sparkling Wine (to top-off)

Directions: Shake all ingredients except the sparkling wine, and double strain into flute.

Glass: Champagne flute 

Directions: Blackberry 


Pumpkin Fright (Old Fashioned)

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey
  • ¾ parts Bénédictine                              
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters                   
  • 2 dashes Orange bitters                        

Directions: Add all ingredients to a mixing glass and fill with ice.  Stir to chill and dilute cocktail, then strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.  Garnish with an Orange slice, Pumpkin Face Garnish 


The Blood in Hand (Blood in Sand)

Ingredients:

  • 1 part Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey
  • 1 part Cherry Liqueur (preferably Cherry Heering)                        
  • 1 part Sweet Vermouth             
  • 1 part Orange juice, freshly squeezed                            

Directions: Add all the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice.  Shake, and strain into a rocks glass


Vampire’s Weakness (Boulevardier)

Inspired by the 1897 horror novel written by Irish author Bram Stoker, famous for introducing the Transylvanian Vampire Count Dracula

Ingredients:

  • 1 ¼ parts Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey
  • 1 part Campari             
  • 1 part Sweet Vermouth

Directions: Add all the ingredients to a mixing glass and fill with ice. Stir to chill and dilute cocktail, then strain into a cocktail glass. 

Garnish: 1 Bloodied Eyeball.


The Spooky Neighbor

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts Glenfiddich 12 Year Old
  • 1 part China China
  • 1 part Suze
  • ½ part bar spoon coffee liqueur

Directions: Stir all ingredients over ice and strain into a double rocks glass with one large ice cube. 

Garnish: an orange and lemon twist.


The Haunted Highlander

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts Glenfiddich 12 Year Old
  • 1 part Sweet Vermouth
  • ½ part Cocchi Americano
  • Benedictine Rinse
  • Sparkling wine, to top

Directions: Pour ½ ounce of Benedictine in a coupe, swirl and discard. Add remaining ingredients except the sparkling wine to a mixing glass and stir with ice. Strain into the Benedicitine rinsed coup. 

Top with approximately an ounce of dry or off-dry sparkling wine.
