Sergio Gonzalez, a truly legendary waiter who was beloved by The Rolling Stones and countless other major stars of the stage and screen since joining Hollywood’s historic Musso and Frank Grill in 1972, passed away on Tuesday, June 4 at age 66, at his home in Sylmar, CA as a result of a heart attack. The announcement was made by Mark Echeverria, the restaurant’s COO/CFO/Proprietor, and a fourth generation family member/owner. Founded in 1919, the legendary restaurant is currently marking its 100th anniversary this year.

Coppola’s 140-Year Old Inglenook Expands Cave Capacity

Alcohol Trade Groups Call To Remove Spirits and Wine From Retaliatory Tariffs

Trade groups representing several beverage alcohol suppliers, wholesalers, importers and retailers, submitted comments to the United States Trade Representative (USTR) urging the removal of spirits, wine and non-alcoholic beer from its draft list of European Union (EU) products being targeted for proposed retaliatory tariffs. The preliminary list of targeted EU products, which was announced by the USTR April 8, includes brandy, liqueurs and cordials, wine and non-alcoholic beer, as well as many other EU products.

Livermore Valley Wine Country Defines 12 Sub-Districts

Results of two scientific studies commissioned by the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Association (LVWA) with funding from the California Department of Food and Agriculture show that there are 12 identifiable growing districts within the 260,000-acre Livermore Valley American Viticultural Area (AVA). Analysis of topography, soils and micro climates across the region also showed the majority can be better classified as a warm Region III, not a hot Region IV as many wine industry experts previously believed.
