Chile has emerged as one of the world’s leading producers of Pinot Noir. As a notably fickle grape, Pinot Noir has seemingly found its sweet spot within the cooler climates of the region. Located in Chimbarongo, just in the midst of the Colchagua Valley, exists Conosur’s winery. Founded in 1993 with a vision of producing premium, expressive and innovative wines that conveys the spirit of the new world. The winery distinguishes itself by three main features: the creative use of technology, orientation towards quality and respect for the environment. In 1999, Conosur inaugurated an annex especially designed for the vinification of Pinot Noir, where ancient Burgundian winemaking traditions blend with the New World`s forefront technology.
2017 Conosur Bicicleta Reserva Pinot Noir (SRP: $10.99): This young, bright, ruby red Pinot Noir exhibits a good intensity of red fruit, cherry and raspberry aromas. On the palate it has a medium concentration and is fresh, juicy and smooth with good acidity and persistence. Enjoy this Pinot with red and white meats as well as aged cheeses or chilled for the summer.
